Register for an Exam

CLEP exams are administered year-round on a flexible schedule. Exams cost only $95 plus your test center or remote proctoring administration fee, compared to hundreds of dollars per course credit at a college.

Follow these steps in the My CLEP student portal to register and pay for exams, purchase study materials, view and send scores, and more.

Select your CLEP exam to begin registration.

Keep in Mind

Registering for an exam and scheduling your test with a test center are separate steps.

Register for an exam, pay the exam fee, and print your ticket on the College Board website. Test centers operate independently and you contact a test center directly to schedule an exam.

If you are in the military, your exam may be paid for by your military benefits.

Be sure to review the page Military: How to Register Under DANTES to determine your eligibility and find out how to register with the exam funded by DANTES.
