College Composition Scoring and Score Availability Dates

College Composition mandatory essays are scored twice a month by college English faculty from throughout the country. The table below includes scoring dates for the 2026–27 academic year as well as dates for when scores will be made available to students and mailed to institutions.

Students who take the College Composition exam will be notified via email once their scores are available online, typically 2–3 weeks after taking the exam. You can access scores by logging in to the My CLEP student portal using the same information you used to register. Once logged in, click on the "Scores" tab. If you would like a paper copy of your scores, you can click on the Download Scores button within one score card or click on Download All Scores at the top of the page.
