Michigan CLEP Exam Fee Assistance

Michigan students in public and nonpublic schools may qualify for a College Board fee reduction on CLEP exams. CLEP follows the same fee reduction eligibility requirements as AP. To review the criteria, visit the AP Exam Fee Reductions page.

The CLEP exam fee reduction is $44 per exam.

• The state of Michigan will pay $48  per CLEP exam.
• The student will pay $5  per exam.

What Schools Must Do 

The CLEP coordinator must complete the steps found on the State Funded Invoicing page. The State Funding Available for CLEP page gives an overview of the program and includes essential links and other key information.

Invoicing Process

• Schools are billed twice a year for tests taken with a voucher—once in January and once in July. 
• Before invoices are generated, CLEP coordinators must log in to My CLEP to enter the number of CLEP vouchers used by reduced-fee-eligible students by the deadline noted in the email reminders.
