Accommodations for Test Center Exams

  1. Contact your test center.

If you’re taking an exam at a test center, contact the test center well in advance of your test date and provide a description of the testing accommodations you need along with the appropriate supporting documentation.

Below are the accommodations that can be arranged directly with a test center:

    • ZoomText (screen magnification)
    • Modifiable screen colors
    • Use of a reader, an amanuensis, or a sign language interpreter
    • Extended time
    • Untimed rest breaks
  2. Confirm approval of accommodations with test center.

Remember to follow up with your test center well in advance of your exam to ensure that you've provided all necessary documentation and to confirm approval of your accommodations.

  3. Contact CLEP for approval or arrangement of accommodations. (if needed)

In some cases, your test center may need to submit your documentation to CLEP to approve and arrange for the accommodation you need. If you require an accommodation not provided by or readily available at your test center (e.g., braille or paper-based form of an exam), contact CLEP Services immediately so the necessary arrangements can be made for you on test day. Your test center can also contact CLEP Services to make this request on your behalf.
