CLEP Online Training Sessions
CLEP will launch a series of new professional development webinars starting February 4th 2013. These free sessions are designed to meet the needs of faculty and testing professionals. Topics will be useful to those on campuses just beginning to use CLEP and to those who have more specific needs and questions.
All sessions last approximately one hour.
This session provides an overview of the College Level Examination Program known as CLEP. Topics will include CLEP exam rigor and design, the test development process, the benefits CLEP offers to students and institutions, the process of adopting a CLEP policy for your campus, and ideas on publicizing CLEP on campus. This session is designed for Advisers, Faculty, Admissions Officers, and Testing Center Professionals.
|Enhance Your CLEP Acceptance Policy to Empower Students|
This session discusses the steps involved in enhancing an existing CLEP policy at your institutions. The process includes: the review and test development process of CLEP exams, recommendations on accepted cut scores, and how to match course credits to appropriate exams. We will also discuss how you can publicize the CLEP exam policy at your institution. This session is designed for Academic Affairs, Testing Center Professionals, and Faculty.
|Advising Students about CLEP|
In this session we will share best practices for advising students on the availability of CLEP Exams. Topics will include: how to effectively review and update your institution’s existing CLEP policy; how to identify possible candidates for CLEP exams, review of study resources available, and suggestions for publicizing your CLEP policy. This session is particularly beneficial for Advisers and Faculty with advising responsibilities.
|CLEP for Military Members and Veterans|
This session will highlight the benefits available to active duty military service members, veterans, and eligible spouses for taking CLEP Exams at no charge. This session is designed for Veterans Affairs Officers, Advisers, and Faculty with advising responsibilities.
|Introducing the New CLEP iBT Platform|
This session introduces the new CLEP iBT testing platform, launching fall 2013 / early 2014. Topics include: key benefits of using iBT, design of the new platform, our new student registration portal called My Account, technical requirements, process comparison eCBT versus iBT, and the transition plan to migrate existing eCBT test centers to the new iBT platform. This session is designed for Testing Center Professionals.
|Design and Development of CLEP Exams|
This session will highlight the design and development of CLEP Exams. Topics include: exam design and rigor, the test development process, and credit granting recommendations. This session is designed for Faculty, Advisers and Testing Center Professionals.

70% of CLEP test-takers said their CLEP credits made a difference in their ability to finance tuition and other fees.
91% of CLEP test-takers said CLEP made a difference in helping them complete their degrees.
92% of institutions offer PLA credits to provide a time-saving avenue for degree completion.
More than 50% of PLA students earned a degree in seven years, compared to 21% of non-PLA students.
Students who receive credit-by-examination through CLEP for an introductory course are much more likely to earn an A or B in subsequent courses than students who complete the introductory course.
