Fully-Funded Testing for Military Service Members
With the closeout of CLEP paper-and-pencil exams effective December 31, 2011, the College Board and DANTES will begin the fully funded pilot program on Oct. 1, 2011, and it will run through Sept. 30, 2012. This program will greatly facilitate the transition of CONUS paper-and-pencil testing to 100 percent eCBT testing. In addition, CLEP will ensure that a base-sponsored or on-base national test center (NTC) is open in those areas where paper-and-pencil testing was conducted so that there is uninterrupted access to CLEP exams for DANTES-funded test-takers.
One significant change to the current process of setting up a base-sponsored/on-base NTC is that the test center will no longer have to sign an MOU with the local base. This change to the process will expedite the establishment of NTCs.
